Special Council Meeting

Mayor Clary called the meeting to order, followed by roll call. Council members present were Gary Ventress, Diane Berg, and Jimmy Brown with Kim Hill absent.
Additional attendees were Nancy Stricklin, City attorney; Dick Martindale, Panhandle Health; Michael Camin, DEQ; and George Miles, engineer for SLIP.
It was moved by Councilman Brown, seconded by Councilwoman Berg to hold the regular November Council meeting on the 15th due to the election, and a vote of aye by all. This will be reflected on the water & sewer bills.
SLIP’s request for sewer hookups was again under discussion. All those attending took turns discussing the project, pros and cons, especially who would own and control, how to enforce guidelines, protection of sewer plant, way to collect for nonpayment, city’s responsibility to citizens versus service out of city limits.
Councilman Ventress moved to adjourn, seconded by Councilman Brown and a vote of aye by all; meeting closed at 8:50pm.
